Chad Levin joined Heyman Law in 2021 and has over 28 years of experience representing and advising clients in the areas of estate planning, probate and trust administration, and business and

real estate law.


Chad is certified by the Ohio State Bar Association as a Specialist in Estate Planning, Trust & Probate Law and works with clients to implement basic and complex estate plans, including wills, revocable living trusts, irrevocable life insurance trusts, dynasty trusts, legacy trusts, pet trusts, special needs trusts, durable power of attorneys, health care powers of attorney, and living wills. He also advises clients regarding probate avoidance, retirement plan distributions, charitable giving, asset protection planning, and estate, gift, and income tax minimization.

Chad also has substantial experience handling probate matters, including the administration of decedent’s estates, guardianships, and special needs trusts, as well as the administration of living trusts, IRA distribution planning, transfer-on-death assets, post-mortem tax planning, and the preparation of estate, inheritance, and fiduciary income tax returns.


As an extension of his estate planning practice, Chad assists individuals and families with elder law matters, including Medicaid eligibility planning, VA benefits, long-term care insurance, durable powers of attorney, guardianships, and other issues surrounding aging. He also assists families and their attorneys to implement special needs trusts to protect Medicaid and SSI benefits for disabled individuals who receive lump sum payments from settlements or inheritances, as well as with related Medicaid and SSI eligibility issues.


Chad is a seasoned business attorney with substantial experience representing clients with respect to business formation and capitalization, operational matters, commercial contracts, and transactional matters, including entity and asset purchases and sales. He also assists business owners with management issues and succession planning, including the drafting and implementation of operating agreements, close corporation agreements, buy-sell agreements, employment agreements, and executive compensation plans.


Chad is admitted to practice law in Ohio (1994) and Kentucky (1996) and before the U.S. Tax Court, the U.S. District Court for the Southern District of Ohio, and the U.S. District Court for Eastern District of Kentucky. He received his law degree from the University of Cincinnati College of Law (J.D., 1994) and his undergraduate degree from Union College in Schenectady, NY (B.S., Psychology, 1989).


Chad is a member of the Ohio State Bar Association, Kentucky Bar Association, Cincinnati Bar Association, Northern Kentucky Bar Association, National Association of Estate Planners and Councils, Cincinnati Estate Planning Council, Estate Planning Council of Northern Kentucky, and National Academy of Elder Law Attorneys.


Throughout his career, Chad has felt it important to be involved and give back and has served as Treasurer of the Cincinnati Bar Association and the Northern Kentucky Bar Association, as Chair of the Cincinnati Bar Association Elder and Special Needs Law Practice Group, as Chair of the Northern Kentucky Bar Association Business and Tax Section, as an officer of the Estate Planning Council of Northern Kentucky, as a volunteer with the Legal Aid Society of Greater Cincinnati Volunteer Lawyers for the Poor and Volunteer Will Clinic. In addition, he presently

serves as President of the Board of Trustees of Pro Seniors, as a Trustee of the Jewish Home of Cincinnati, and as a Trustee of Musicians For Health.
